Las mujeres en Asia Central (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan y Uzbekistan) que están considerando el suicidio para escapar de la tortura y la humillación del abuso en sus hogares. Muchas son forzadas a casarse con hombres que son polígamos y luego las tratan como sirvientas. Amnistía Internacional declara que casi la mitad de las mujeres en Tajikistan son, raptadas, golpeadas o abusadas por miembros de la familia (BBC News).
